Alianza Coachella Valley
Alianza Coachella Valley is a nonprofit coalition of people and organizations supporting residents of disadvantaged communities as they lead efforts for lasting change. Its work is based on the understanding that healthy and economically thriving communities exist only when people have a seat at the table for the decisions affecting their daily lives. Alianza believes a strong Eastern Coachella Valley benefits the entire region and is currently working on campaigns for better schools, improving the local environment, promoting youth leadership, and expanding trauma-informed care.
Alianza is the regional coordinator for the Riverside Eastern sub-region. To connect with this table, email Barrett Newkirk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice
The Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice (CCAEJ) works on social justice change through the lens of environmental health and justice. The primary focus of their work is to build power within low income communities of color. Through community capacity building and leadership development CCAEJ seeks to change the political and social landscape of the Inland Valleys of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The work of CCAEJ consistently focuses on those most affected by environmental health hazards: low-income communities of color and recent immigrants who live, work, learn and play closest to rail yards, industrial areas, toxic waste facilities, intermodal facilities, freeways and other areas at greatest risk for environmental health hazards.
CCAEJ is the regional coordinator for the Riverside Metropolitan sub-region. To connect with this table, email Mariana Lopez at email@example.com.
