Emergency Response

Census IE Response to COVID-19

The health and safety of our community members is the primary concern of the Inland Empire Community Foundation, the Census IE Coalition, and all of our participating partners. Each of us became engaged in Census outreach with the intention of strengthening our community and ensuring that every single person among us is seen and supported in the ways that impact us most.

We have been closely monitoring the coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak over the past few weeks and have taken many precautions to protect our community, keep our teams employed, and ensure the funding and representation of our region matches the needs of our community, now and for the next ten years. We have shifted all of our outreach strategies to digital, recommended that all of our partnering organizations work from home, and continue to search for innovative ways to reach our community virtually. We recommend that everyone practice social distancing and good hygiene, abide by the Governor’s stay at home mandate, and follow the CDC guidelines.

These are scary times. This global pandemic is a real threat and we are taking it very seriously. However, we refuse to be discouraged or complacent. We want to connect our community to all of the amazing emergency support that is being offered in our region, and we want to remind people that it has never been easier to fill the Census out at home. We will be updated this page regularly with resources that may help struggling families get through this pandemic.

We also encourage everyone to take 10 minutes and fill out your 2020 Census at my2020census.gov. Just ten minutes can help us better prepare our hospitals, schools, businesses, etc. for future national emergencies!

With Love,

the Census IE team
